Anna has been designing and delivering professional development workshops and graduate level courses for K-12 teachers since 2000 and for principals and teacher leaders since 2013. She is an expert in the areas of instructional coaching, professional development, standards based education, alternative education, career and technical education (CTE), literacy (reading, writing, and thinking), collaborative/cooperative group work, service learning, turnaround leadership, and district-wide change initiatives. A past NBPTS (National Board Certified) teacher, Anna’s work in education includes teaching 6-12 in the following subjects: English Language Arts, Advanced Placement English, social studies, speech, drama, service learning, Link Crew freshman orientation, student leadership, and student government. Anna has worked as an administrator at the middle, high, and alternative high school levels. She has been trained for Discovery, Why Try, AVID and International Baccalaureate programs.
As a learning facilitator, instructional coach, and professional developer, Anna designed and delivered multiple workshops, both one-time and ongoing for multi-year initiatives; she also taught many graduate-level courses as an adjunct professor at Colorado Mesa University (Mesa State College) and Adams State University. As an administrator, she worked closely with Response to Intervention (RtI) and Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), school improvement, professional learning communities (PLCs), instructional and curricular professional development, school culture, and student behavioral support. As the principal of a turnaround school, she wrote grants for more than $3 million, managed them, and led her team through systems-level change.
Laurie Wretling, M. Ed.
Consultant, K-12 Math, Science, STEM, Project-based learning and Content Literacy
Laurie Wretling is former elementary, middle, and high school math and science teacher who brings five years of experience designing and implementing professional development workshops for K-12 teachers. Laurie has Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Schools Training and uses these to support the work she does with districts, schools, and individual teachers. Laurie has presented multiple times at the National Expeditionary Learning conference, Colorado Council of International Reading Association, and the regional National Science Teachers Associations Conference. Her work includes supporting districts, schools, and individual teachers with implementation of workshop model, metacognitive strategies, and backwards planning in all content areas. Laurie has experience supporting teachers with the integration of STEM and Project Based Learning to design units that immerse students in applicable, releveant and authentic learning contexts.
Passionate about designing professional learning that can be immediately applied in the classroom, Laurie often accesses her own teaching experiences in urban and rural school districts to make adult learning relevant and engaging. In addition, Laurie has designed curriculum for the Clyfford Still Museum’s InStill Program which provides activity based museum tours for school groups.
